How was your day?

My day was up and down and then up again with a happy ending. . . . . .as pictured here. Cris headstone is finally completed and in place.

I received a post card in the mail today (I've called once a week since the end of August) telling me that his headstone is in place. So I go to the cemetery to take a look/pictures and have a moment. Uhhhhmmm--it's not there--not even close. So I call the office (while standing on his grave). "Hello"--I received a post card today stating my husband's headstone is in place and I'm standing here NOT looking at it. Can you help me please"? Long time on hold--long time. Then the funeral director himself comes walking across the lawn. BIG apologies because it was actually installed in the wrong place. They were very embarrassed and said they would move it immediately. I stayed--I watched--I hovered. All with a calm but disappointed face. They dug it up, moved it to the correct place.
They took great care to make it perfect. NOW I'm happy. Hurting heart--but happy. I'm sure he loves it.
It looks great.

A side note: In the interest of fiscal responsibility I salute this Costco baby swing. Purchased for $20 in 1997 for baby Christine, all 14 grandchildren have swung on our patio. Grahammy Bear love it just as much as all the rest. Sigh. . . . .Life is Good.

I love, love, love that headstone. Gty wants the same exact one... just, you know, without the Rio (haha).

But srsly...the WRONG PLACE??? How? Wha? I don't get it.

You were much calmer speaking to the headstone-misplacers than I would have been. But now that it's in the right place, it looks great.

Looks aaawesome! We're going to go see it pronto. We could Not do a commercial for Greenlawn. I'd have Shed mention this incident on his radio show if it were me but you're a lot kinder than that. Grammy Bear yoves you.

Everyone--YES--THE WRONG PLACE. I had this tornado of emotions rising in my throat--frustration-hurt--disbelief---wait, take a deep breath--mistakes happen--they can fix it--don't go bullistic--be professional--be kind--no head slapping--be a grown-up. Yeah--stuff like that.

I am sure they were apologetic and felt super bad. They were probably also very uncomfortable while you watched them. That is a major oversight--for crying out loud!

Don't they have a grid or something? Weird.

I love the stone though, it is one of those that on memorial day kids will stop and say "look at this one!" and they will wonder about the person who would have such a cool and unique headstone.

Glad to see that your situation with headstone worked out well in the end. It's wonderful and Cris would love it...especially the "Y" in the corner. BTW, is that Cris's BYU blanket wrapping our little Grahammy bear with love? Loving it, Carol!

Well that is worrisome. You would think they would check, and double check, and triple check... cuz how terrible to get it wrong! But I must say, I love his headstone. I guarantee people are going to stop and take a second look when they pass by his.
